What were some common problems with the work in terms of ideas, concept and/or approach?
-does my work meet the brief
-too much freedom
-converting ideas into images
Having a ideas is the easiest part but making it the hard part. Have a picture of how it might but doesn’t turn out to be what I want it been a problem
“Concept – a strong idea should underpin the work, and be communicated effectively using the visual language you adopt.”
My image of Natasha best meets this criteria, as I think it successfully commutate what I trying to show the audience.
“Technique – you should aim to have an attention to detail and high levels of production values in your work; your colour balance, exposure and lighting should all be correct; the work should not suffer from poor focus or pixilation; you have made sure the borders of your images are neat and consistent (or have cropped off your border altogether).”
I don’t think any of my image meet this criteria. i think most of my piece lack detail on it editing
“Creativity – you should aim to produce images which are innovative, experimental and exploratory. Try to avoid reproducing the clichés of photography and offer something inventive which creatively communicates your message.”
My image of Natasha best meets this criteria as communicates my message across.

For my idea, I have chosen to make it simpler than my other initial ideas. I chose it to be simple because my idea is based on oriental calligraphy. The letters ‘R’ & ‘E’ are from my character design, which symbolises my Chinese origin. I have used myself as the ‘N’ of my name because the way my legs are looks like the letter ‘N’.
I also designed myself a mini red stamp, which represent my Chinese name. This is included because most of Chinese, Japanese and oriental artists use the red stamp as their signature.
The background for my name is white, and using few colours due to the fact that it helps the image to stand out.
-
typography project, i try to make my type design more japanese and chinese looking.
-
here i trying to make English letter look like Chinese character. as you can see if u look carefully it say R.E.N. the writing is not chinese.
-
for the surreal task I take a picture from horror movie ‘paranormal activity’ and children anime ‘pokemon to combine them together. ’paranormal activity’ photo as my background and I place on left side on top the background ghost pokemon. I make the pokemon less opacity and used smuggle tool.
-
fourth task is to create a self-portrait in which you retouch your face or body digitally in some way. I make a fatter vsion of myself
